Students must be a graduating senior of public or private high school in the Sioux Falls area, that is Minnehaha, Lincoln, Turner, and McCook counties and communities within a 25-mile radius of Sioux Falls. Students must plan to attend an accredited four-year college and university. Students must be involved in school, community, and work activities as well as achieved high academic standards.

American Cancer Society Scholarship

Students must have been diagnosed with cancer before the age of 21 and be under the age of 25 at the time of application. Students must be a legal resident of Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota or Wisconsin for at least 1 year and be accepted to attend an accredited two to four year university or vocational/technical school.

American Legion Auxiliary- Lois Hallberg Nurses' Scholarship- Past Presidents Parley

Senior must be a veteran's or auxiliary member's child or grandchild whose sole interest is a career in nursing. Selection is based on character, Americanism, leadership, scholarship, and basis of need.

Students must be Junior members of the South Dakota American Legion Auxiliary for the past three years and hold a Junior membership card for the current year, or have turned 18 of age in her Senior year of school. Open to males and females.  1 Recipient from Dells Public and 1 recipient from St. Mary's.  Students must complete a written statement for selection committee.

Dakota Corps Scholarship

This is a competitive scholarship that pays tuition and fees to colleges or tech schools in SD.  Must agree to stay in SD to work in critical need occupation such as K-12 music, special education,  foreign language, or as a high school math or science teacher in a public, private, or parochial school.    

Other critical need occupations include a Licensed Practical  Nurse, Registered Nurse, or other positions within an allied health field. 

 

Students must have a cumulative GPA 2.8 or greater and composite ACT score of 24 or greater.

 

Dale Lokke Law Enforcement Scholarship

Graduating senior must attend a Minnehaha County public or private high school, plan to attend a SD college/university, participate in extra-curricular and community activities and demonstrate the desire and ability to succeed in his/her chosen field.

 

Davenport Scholarship

Scholarships will be awarded to nine HS seniors to be used for costs of attending a SD institution of higher learning.  Students attending high school in Brookings, Lake, Lincoln, Minnehaha, Moody or Turner counties are eligible. Students must have high academic achievement as demonstrated by cumulative GPA, class rank, and ACT score. Students must be involved in school and community activities and demonstrate a desire to pursue and meet educational goals.

Student must be a senior from Dell Rapids Public or Dell Rapids St. Marys and attend an accredited post-high institution specializing in Agriculture, Coaching, or playing collegiate level sports. GPA must be 2.0 or better.

Awards can be used to continue education at accredited post-secondary colleges, universities, or vocational schools. Application addresses financial need, membership and leadership positions, honors/awards, employment history, and personal statement.

 

Jeremy Baum "Hope" Scholarship

$500

Student must be an area graduating senior or be a student who graduated in prior years.  Applicants must be a GPA of 3.0 or less and demonstrate financial need. Applicants must have developed a motivation to succeed late in life or after leaving high school, making the applicant ineligible for most scholarships. 

Joe Foss Scholarship

Graduating senior  must plan to attend an accredited college, university or vocational/technical school. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, minimum ACT test score of 21, and demonstrate characteristics of an American Patriot.

 

Karst Memorial Scholarship

(2) $300

Student must graduate from a SD high school and rank in the upper 50% of the class.  Student must attend a 4-year college or a vocational college majoring in an agricultural related field.

 

Marion T. Wood Scholarship

Student must be pursuing further education in an educational office-related business program. Applicant must have completed four semesters of high school and/or college courses from the following:  computer classes, keyboarding/typing, shorthand/speed writing, marketing, business communications, office practices and procedures,, accounting, and/or bookkeeping.

 

Marlin R. Scarborough Memorial Scholarship

$1,000

Students who have completed at least three semesters at a SD public university and maintained a 3.5 GPA.  Interested student complete an application and each SD public university may nominate one students.

 

Mike Entringer Scholarship

Must be graduating senior who has participated in high school sports for two or more years and exhibited good sportsmanship (participation includes athlete, manager, stats, cheerleader)

 

Monsato and National Association of Farm Broadcasters 2005 Commitment to Agriculture Scholarships

Student's immediate family must actively engage in production agriculture.  Students must have a minimum composite ACT score of 18.  Students must attend a two or four year college, university, or vocational-technical school with plans to pursue any field related to agriculture.

Wendy's High School Heisman Scholarship Students (both male and female) who exhibit excellence in the classroom, on the field and within their communities. Students must have at least a "B" grade average and participate in at least one officially sanctioned event.

Each Walmart/Sam's Club may award up to 2 scholarships based upon applicants ACT/SAT scores, community service, leadership, GPA and financial need.  Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5.  Applicant or their parents CANNOT be employed at Walmart.
