Fourth Grade

Mrs. Anderson

In 4th grade, we learn:

In Religion-we continue on our journey to learn about God's love for us.  The saints play a big part in our year.  We even have an All Saints Museum to celebrate their lives.

In Math-those multiplication facts are mastered this year, to help us with division.  Decimals, fractions, and geometry are introduced a little deeper.

In Social Studies-we celebrate our nation this year; it diversities and its oneness.  The states and their capitals are memorized by the end of the year.

In Science-animals and plants are studied to see how they adapt to their environment.  We look at the different ecosystems that make up our unique world God created for us.  Earthquakes, volcanoes, and weather  can affect our lives, so we take a closer look at those.  How things change and react, how things work are all discussed this year.  We even have a small Science Fair to help us become better scientists.

In Reading-our reader is full of great stories as we continue to become life-long readers.  Goals are set to complete novels in the various genres.

In Language Arts-learning how to spell and to write effectively are lifelong skills.  We continue to work on those skills.  One of our first writing projects is writing a business letter to the states, asking for information they could send to the students.

In Health-healthy lifestyles are our goal as we see why our bodies work the way they do.  Avoiding the bad things and enjoying the good things in life are important skills to have.
